United General District 304 is seeking to hire a qualified person to fill an opening for the position of Accountant/Administrative Support. This position is full time, exempt and will report to the Superintendent/CFO. Ideal candidate will have an educational background and experience in Accounting and either have experience or a strong desire to learn the modalities of Human Resources and Administrative Support. 

The position of Accountant/Administrative Support will perform a wide variety of accounting tasks including but not limited to; 

Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Budgets, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Tax filing and reporting, Grant billing, Fiscal and Financial Reporting. This position may also be responsible for a wide variety of Administrative Support functions including but not limited to; Preparing information and minutes for meetings, Benefit Administration, Human Resource functions such as posting positions, background screenings, Human Resource file management, onboarding new employees, Information Systems liaison and other general administrative support duties. Associates degree in accounting is desired, Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred. 

Work experience may substitute for education requirement depending upon applicant's experience. Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting is required. Experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, Cash Management, compiling and analyzing data using computerized financial software is required. Experience in Human Resources and Administrative Support is preferred. Experience with MS Office applications, and strong spreadsheet and database skills required. Ability to maintain professionalism, mutual respect, and cooperation with other employees and departments. Ability to demonstrate excellent personal judgement and commitment to ethical conduct, including sensitive and confidential issues and financial transactions. Ability to work independently and to provide a timely work product. Knowledge of internal control procedures. Experience working for a public entity is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others. Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks is preferred.
