Position Summary/Essential Duties:

Performs concurrent & retrospective review of medical records and hospital clinical and operational processes and procedures. Together with the PI/Medical Director, this role will participate in regional meetings along with project coordinators at other sites within the system specific to the work of the Emergency Medical Services for Children Innovative & Improvement Center (EIIC), Assistant Secretary for Preparedness & Response (ASPR) and the Regional Pediatric Pandemic Network (RPPN).  This role will liaise with project managers and medical directors to ensure holistic and comprehensive collaboration.

 

  • Performs electronic data collection and abstraction from clinical, operational and disaster databases.  Coordinator will develop a coordinated pediatric disaster care model that ensures capability for pediatric patient care in the setting of disaster.

  • Summarizes and analyzes clinical and operational data outcomes, develops summary reports, charts, graphs and trending outcomes, identifies opportunities for improvement, and facilitates quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Director of Women’s and Children’s Services and Quality.  The coordinator will assist in strengthening the pediatric disaster preparedness plans and health care system coordination related to pediatric medical surge in disasters.

  • Supports and aligns with Rainbow & MacDonald performance improvement initiatives and facilitates RB&C efforts within the community setting as related to the RPPM grant work.

  • Increases and maintains health care professional competency through the development and delivery of a standardized training program with a focus of disaster preparedness.

  • Assists in enhancing situational awareness of pediatric disaster care capabilities and capacity and assessment of regional pediatric readiness.
  •  
  • Collaboratively writes, develops and presents dissemination products- preferably to academic, traditional and social media outlets at the state, regional and national level.  Roll will require public speaking experience and passion to lead.  This role will have proven successful delivery and execution of in-person and virtual community engagement strategies.

Education/Expertise:

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in related field preferred.

Required Credentials, License and/or Certifications:

Current clinical licensure in Healthcare related field required;

Project Management Professional (PMP via PMI), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA via AHIMA), Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA via AHIA) preferred.

Experience & Knowledge:

Nursing, Business, Finance, or Healthcare related field experience preferred.

At least five years’ experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in clinical or quality department; analytical skills; knowledge of medical terminology; database management.

In-depth knowledge of healthcare trends, finances, provision of care and health care delivery system

Knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS accreditation activities and requirements.

Knowledge of quality improvement principles.

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to gather and assess data and generate meaningful strategies for problem resolution.
