Mosquito Management Aides: This is temporary, seasonal field and/or laboratory work. Sampling mosquito populations, applying control methods and assisting with mosquito-borne disease monitoring.
We are currently recruiting for nine (9) Temporary positions to assist in field operations; Two (2) seasonal aides for the lab, Six (6) seasonal aides applying pesticides, and One (1) seasonal for Collection of Specialized Traps and Chicken Sentinels.

General Job Duties:
- Inspecting for mosquito activity and larval production, field-collecting larval and adult mosquitoes, labeling collections, maintaining and/or sampling sentinel chicken flocks.
- Applying larval and adult mosquito control measures as directed with oversight by a certified technician or specialist; or microscopic identification of mosquitoes; or assist Biologist in weekly, specializing collections of mosquito for virus testing.
- Recording/entering data on mosquitoes collected or insecticide applied; or assist Biologist in weekly, specializing collections of mosquito research.
- Finding, mapping and collecting pertinent data on mosquito breeding sites.
- Helping maintain MMS facilities, vehicles and application equipment.
- Assists Project Scientist, Mosquito Management Specialist or Program Specialist in field projects.
Role-Specific Job Duties:
- Six (6) Temporary: Duties for Field Operations include, but not limited to, field inspections of all types of mosquito habitats, pesticide applications, and trail clearing. Normal work hours from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Two (2) Temporary: Duties for Mosquito Monitoring program include, but not limited to, identifying mosquitoes using microscopes, setting and collecting mosquito traps, and data entry. Normal work hours from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- One (1) Temporary: Duties for Mosquito-borne Disease Surveillance program include, but not limited to, specialized trapping for the mosquito-borne disease surveillance program, specialized trapping for ongoing research experiments, assisting in sentinel chicken sampling.
Minimum Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED and possession of a valid Driver's License.
