Warehouse Inventory Specialist

Responsible for warehouse and internal distribution activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing finished goods. Review and analyze inventory reports, backorder reports and surplus stock lists to improve inventory control.

Backorder management is a prioritization in this role. In addition, this individual will work collaboratively with Inventory Management Specialists, Purchasing Assistants, Sourcing Specialists and Value Analysis Clinicians to secure/monitor substitute products and document on hand quantity. This will assist in creating timely re-orders and ease transition from external to internal distribution and back.

Coordinates special distribution efforts to achieve new product introduction through Value Analysis and Sourcing team initiatives.

Keen insight into achieving and maintaining KPI metrics monthly and utilizing PeopleSoft to run daily queries to facilitate this effort. These metrics include:

  • Expiration loss/savings
  • Cycle count frequency and accuracy
  • Freight expenditure and avoidance
  • Stock outs
  • Inventory variance
  • Evaluation of express out data and department par addition recommendations/savings
  • NYS Pandemic inventory levels

An emphasis on reduced expiration and maintaining lean inventory levels is a must. Analyzing and projecting transportation costs in relation to estimated time of delivery is essential and will be tracked. Responsible for pandemic supply and bulk room rotation and distribution of goods.

Individual will also work collaboratively with Logistics Techs to aid in fulfillment of immediate clinical needs.
