Propose solutions.<br/> <br/> </font><font size="2" color="#000000"><b>Job Responsibilities&#47;Essential Functions<br/> </b></font><font size="2" color="#000000">&#149; Oversee plant asset accounting.<br/> &#149; Review assembly units and assets assigned to work orders.<br/> &#149; Provide back up to Materials &amp; Inventory Coordinator for assigning assembly units and assets.<br/> &#149; Perform costing of materials, labor, and assets related to construction units.<br/> &#149; Maintain the work order system.<br/> &#149; Ensure timely closing of completed work orders.<br/> &#149; Verify the accuracy of charges to open work orders.<br/> &#149; Review work orders to ensure cost estimates are accurately calculated according to the line extension policy.<br/> &#149; Ensure proper budget coding to each work order.<br/> &#149; Work with Materials &amp; Inventory Coordinator when adding new Assembly Units&#47;CPR Assets<br/> &#149; Maintain work order recordkeeping.<br/> &#149; Support Operations and Engineering by providing analysis and reporting on progress during the year.<br/> &#149; Retire special equipment disposals.<br/> &#149; Balance construction work in progress (CWIP) and retirement work in progress (RWIP), special equipment, and distribution&#47;general plant accounts to complete the monthly plant roll forward, balancing to GL and balancing to depreciation.<br/> &#149; Balance accumulated depreciation.<br/> &#149; Close depreciation.<br/> &#149; Responsible for the accuracy of fixed assets and property records.<br/> &#149; Monitor and review depreciation rates.<br/> &#149; Periodically update standard costs.<br/> &#149; Maintain substation accounting.<br/> &#149; Assist with budget preparation of capital budgets and depreciation.<br/> &#149; Assist with year-end audit regarding plant. <br/> &#149; Close transportation.<br/> &#149; Establish&#47;maintain budget tracking for general and distribution plant.<br/> &#149; Verify accuracy of assets.<br/> &#149; Supports the damage claims collection process.<br/> &#149; Non-essential Functions&#58; Performs other duties as directed or required.<br/> <br/> </font><font size="2" color="#000000"><b>Job Requirements<br/> </b></font><font size="2" color="#000000">&#149; Education&#47;Experience<br/> o Four-year college degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting. Experience in lieu of education may be considered when experience is specific to the position<br/> o 3 years of related work experience. Electric utility experience preferred.<br/> &#149; Knowledge and Skills<br/> o Ability to apply accounting knowledge, experience and speed with attention to detail and accuracy.<br/> o Knowledge and experience in operating office equipment, including 10-key and computer (accounting software) with speed and accuracy.<br/> o Knowledge of Excel and Word and the ability to work with software with speed and accuracy.<br/> o Good verbal and written communication skills. <br/> o Technical understanding of flow of costs in general ledger and sub-ledgers.<br/> o Thorough understanding of principles of internal controls and their implementation.<br/> o Familiar with Cooperative policies and procedures.<br/> o Ability to work independently without direct supervision.<br/> &#149; Metal Demands<br/> o Ability to organize and meet deadlines with accuracy and adhere to all government regulations and changes.<br/> o Strict adherence to the protection of confidential data and to the detail and accuracy of accounting records.<br/> o Ability to compare, compute, analyze and evaluate, compile, coordinate and synthesize.</font><p align="center"> <font size="2" color="#000000">Interested candidates must complete a KEC employment application at <b><u>www.kec.com</b></u>.
