POOL MANAGER Seasonal Position 30-40 hrs/week, Pleasant Valley Pool, Salary $12,200-$15,500/season. Additional hourly rate for pool facility use supervision prior to opening hours. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Manages and oversees day-to-day operation of the Pleasant Valley Pool, including maintenance, staff and swim programs. Work is performed under general supervision of the Director of Parks & Recreation. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsible for supervision of 60+ pool staff, including Assistant Pool Managers, Lifeguard Supervisors, lifeguards, customer relations, maintenance, activities coordinator, and swim team coaches. Ability to oversee and manage all aspects of operations, both physical & program oriented. Assist with interviewing and training all seasonal staff members. Assist with staff orientation each season to include reviewing policies and expectations listed in the employee handbook as well as Bloodborne Pathogens and Right to Know training. Attend monthly Pool Commission meeting to give input on operations, problems and solutions. Ability to perform water chemistry testing for entire site as well as check mechanical operations daily and adjust equipment for proper water chemistry levels. Initiate and implement safety regulations and procedures and project needs for equipment, materials and supplies. Ability to respond to requests, questions and complaints regarding operations and maintenance of the pool and conduct of patrons and employee issues. Ability to handle problems with the application of the Pool's policies and procedures. Supervises Early Bird Swim hours (6am-9am) prior to pool opening. Knowledge of the maintenance and operation of a pool facility and equipment, materials and supplies used in pool maintenance is preferred. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university. Prefer major course work in recreation or related field, but not required. Licensing &/or Certifications: Valid driver's license. Must possess Pool Operator Certification or obtain by June 1, 2022. Pool Director Certification and CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Experience: At least 3 years of facility management experience preferred.
