Teacher Assistants must be able to work at a Christian center and possess the ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children. A minimum qualification is a high school diploma or vocational training with experience working in a child care setting. A basic love for children and a commitment to help provide a warm, nurturing safe environment is essential.

Teacher Assistants should possess evidence of sufficient confidence and judgment to handle emergency situations. Teacher Assistants must be able to safely lift up to 40 pounds, bend and stoop to the level of a child, get up and down from the floor with or without accommodations and be agile enough to move quickly to respond to children’s actions.

The successful candidate must be able to work flexible daytime hours Monday-Friday, attend evening and weekend meetings, workshops or trainings as necessary, pass a physical examination by a certified health care provider and provide proof of a negative tuberculosis test result at their own expense within 60 days of accepting position as well as pass a criminal record, background check and fingerprints.
