EBSCO Information Services is seeking a Customer Service Representative to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven customer service environment. The Representative will manage a portfolio of accounts that includes college and university libraries, providing assistance with selection, ordering and renewal of magazines and journals in both print and digital format.  EBSCO’s Customer Service team is highly regarded by our customers, and we are looking for a candidate who is committed to providing a high level of service and who has a “whatever it takes” attitude. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and enjoy working independently but also willing to collaborate internally with other customer service team members. In addition, candidates should feel comfortable working with teams and individuals at various levels within the company to address customer issues. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills are essential, as is flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changes in systems and processes.

 

This position requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a willingness to speak up when help is needed or when an opportunity for improvement is observed. This job is currently remote; computer equipment will be provided. Work will be partially on site post-Covid at our office in Birmingham, AL.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or 3+ years of customer service experience
  • 2+ years of experience in an office environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work remotely in a quiet area conducive to regular external communication
  • Sufficient internet access to enable use of VPN and multiple online tools/systems

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Customer-facing experience with multiple daily customer contacts
