Join our team of dedicated human services professionals as a Therapeutic Mentor

 

Therapeutic mentors work together with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to support children with behavioral health challenges to achieve stability and success in the community. Therapeutic mentors help children through providing one to one structured therapeutic activities in the community including modeling, coaching and encouraging achievement of goals that support behavior change and success in the community.  Therapeutic mentors work collaboratively with other professionals to provide high quality team based care.

 

Behavioral Health Network is a growing non-profit community behavioral health agency that has been providing services to children, adults, families and communities in Western Massachusetts since 1938.  We are dedicated to offering high quality and culturally appropriate care.

Therapeutic Mentors at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualifications:

  • Associates’ degree or high school diploma with 1 year experience working with children or GED and two (2) years experience working with children
  • Familiarity with internet, word processing and email systems (required).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (required).

Job Requirements:

Therapeutic Mentors at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualities:

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of community resources and how to help clients access them.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Interest in helping others. 
  • Ability to create and implement strategies to facilitate achievement of agreed-upon goals.                                         
  • Previous experience working with children with Serious Emotional Disturbance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year experience working with target population.
  • OR Associates’ degree, high school diploma, or GED and two (2) years experience working with target population.
