Job Summary: Under the supervision of the POCT supervisor, the POCC will provide technical oversight of POCT and work collaboratively with hospital personnel, providers, and Clinical Pathology in the validation, training, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and execution of process improvement of authorized POCT throughout Upstate. Develops and maintains a quality management system for POCT that assures quality and meets regulatory requirements. The POCC coordinates/participates in required method comparisons, instrument validations, linearity checks, end user training, and competency assessments. The POCC develops, writes, and revises Upstate policies and procedures in compliance with NYSDOH and DNV regulatory requirements. 
Minimum Qualifications:

NYS license/eligible to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field and 6 years of clinical laboratory experience required. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. ASCP certification and experience in POCT preferred.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional off hours as needed.
