This Term-Limited Temporary/Special Duty Business Analyst assignment provides an exciting opportunity to join the King County Sheriff’s Office and to apply your exceptional skills and imagination to planning, provide policy analysis and development, systems development, technology implementation and program development and/or coordination. The incumbent will report to the Technical Services Division Captain and coordinate day to day efforts with the Records Unit and Crime Analysis Unit teams. If selected for this position you will be working collaboratively with all King County Sheriff’s Office Departments, outside agencies, and vendors including but not limited to CJIS/WASPC, Advanced Training Unit (ATU), Communications Center (911), Mark43 Records Management System personnel to ensure needs of stakeholders are understood and communicated. This assignment will include revision and development of department policies and procedures and training as it applies to report writing through the Mark43 Records Management System and the National Incident Based Reporting system (NIBRS) to ensure accurate crime statistic reporting. Knowledge of analysis, design, and development of a variety of business systems Knowledge of performance auditing and quality assurance management concepts and tools Knowledge of process improvement methods and techniques such as Lean and Six Sigma Knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies Knowledge of group dynamics and change management Knowledge of statistical concepts and theories Skill in leading process improvement workshops Skill as a team leader, trainer and facilitator Skill in conducting research and analyzing policies, rules, specialized or technical work processes and systems Skill in analyzing information, resolving complex analytical challenges, and making recommendations based on analysis Skill in utilizing auditing and quality assurance, diagnostic, and evaluation tools Skill in analytical thinking and collaborative problem solving Skill in planning, organizational techniques, and project management Skill in communication, including preparing clear, concise reports and making presentations to diverse audiences Skill in working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds and maintaining collaborative relationships Skill in customer service Skill in using current office software programs including word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and email ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration or related field and a minimum of two (2) years related business process analysis and improvement experience, which includes facilitation/leadership experience OR Any combination of experience/education/training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.
