Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest is hiring an AmeriCorps Program Manager (APM) to begin July/August 2019. The full-time position, based in Milwaukie, OR (Portland metro area), manages all aspects JVC Northwest's AmeriCorps grant. The APM collaborates with a vibrant and active program staff to manage a robust and integrated program of +/-142 Jesuit Volunteer (JV)/AmeriCorps members living in intentional communities and serving with people who are on the margins of society. The APM must be committed to both compliance and accuracy as well as inclusion and equity in order to better support our richly diverse JV/AmeriCorps members and local communities. This includes: development of AmeriCorps program policies and documentation procedures; training of program staff, Jesuit Volunteer (JV)/Americorps members, and supervisors at the partner agencies; maintenance of complete files that meet regulatory requirements; tracking of performance measure data and support of program evaluation; completion of all AmeriCorps reports and management of data in eGrants; and drafting of federal grant applications. The position is full time and will be assisted by a full-time program assistant.

Requirements:

The AmeriCorps Manager demonstrates the following:

  • Commitment to living the core values of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest: social justice, community, simple living and spirituality;
  • Participation in staff community, including prayer/reflection, staff meetings, and staff days;
  • Ability to work as a team member and also independently;
  • Ability to meet the public in a friendly and open way and to communicate effectively with diverse peoples;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Desire to work in small, collaborative office;
  • Experience in communications, business Administration or government programs is desired; and

Undergraduate degree required. Former JVs and National Service Members preferred. The AmeriCorps Program Managers is employed at will. Successful clearance of pre-employment reference checks and criminal history background checks required for final hire.
