Share Email Opening Title Minister for Women’s Justice (part-time 20 hours/week) - Application Deadline: 12/31/2021  Ministry Team Health & Wholeness Advocacy   Reports To Executive for Health and Wholeness Advocacy   FLSA Status Exempt   Salary Grade 8   Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time   Category National and Global Ministries, Cleveland, Ohio   Starting Salary   Description GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: The United Church of Christ seeks a Minister for Women’s Justice who will provide leadership and training in the areas and intersections of Sex, Gender Identity and Gender Expression; serve as national liaison to issues of gender bias and injustice; support and expand networks of Women’s Rights within the Conferences and local church settings; and increase collaboration between the Conferences and other organizations working to end violence and discrimination against women.   LOCATION: This position is offered with the possibility of deployment. Relocation to Cleveland will not be necessary.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the national liaison to areas of gender justice. Facilitate the development of an array of programs or avenues by which local congregations can engage with the work of a Women’s Table. These will include programs oriented toward spiritual formation, education, and faith-based activism. Implement and assist in the promotion of the agenda items of a Women’s Table. Identify additional resources and curricula for local church work on gender justice and make them available via the website and other means. Work with the DC Advocacy office to advance policy initiatives involving Women’s rights. Collaborate with organizations and networks to discover opportunities for collaboration and ways Conferences might build on their work. Other projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.   Position Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform successfully in this position.   Graduate degree in theology, gender studies, or equivalent related field. Thorough and working knowledge of the history, polity, and policy of the United Church of Christ. Thorough and working knowledge of women’s rights work, including the places of intersection and the places of distinction with other issues. Good understanding of social media and web technology. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and demonstrated excellent people skills. Organizational and project managements skills. Ability to take direction and follow through on commitments Self-starter Desire and sensitivity to working in diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and religious settings with commitment to diversity in the workplace as well as in one’s understanding of mission. Ability to travel within the United States, if necessary.
