What We’re Looking For:

The Electrical Engineer position will support the development of innovative, high quality, marketable products for assigned product lines in the Business Unit while working closely with the Product Development Manager, Operations, and Purchasing. This position is responsible for investigating, validating, and proposing electrical solutions for Moultrie Trail Cameras and Moultrie Feeder products. The position is expected to work collaboratively with Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Sales to meet customer needs and support the strategic goals of the brands and PRADCO.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new technologies and products that push the market segment forward and garner consumer interest while maintaining the quality of the brand.
  • Enhance existing technologies and products to meet product performance expectations, marketing, and sales requirements, and deliver the financial goals of business.
  • Investigate and propose electrical solutions for cameras/feeders, image processing, hardware, and firmware.
  • Document and specify device requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Sales, and Brand project teams and be mindful of release timelines for new products and development

 

Specific Duties:

  • Create and execute designs for existing product changes and all new product development.
  • Generate, update, and communicate product specification documents defining product design and manufacturing.  Submit engineering changes to manufacturing in a timely manner.
  • Define factory specifications and key measures. Work with sourcing team and manufacturing to ensure quality and durability of products.
  • Maintain appropriate engineering procedures throughout the product development process to achieve engineering deliverables which include cost, reliability, and manufacturing objectives.
  • Work within the discipline of the new product development process to ensure only products that meet requirements and are approved are developed.
  • Develop and execute test protocols based on real world product use to ensure function and durability of products.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Electrical Design experience
  • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical) from an accredited college/university.
  • Self-motivated and innovative.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to form creative solutions to problems.
  • Proven organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft tools for data analysis, project tracking and presentations.

 

Preferred Skills/Qualities:

  • A background in the hunting or outdoor sporting goods market.
  • Familiar with PRADCO products and a regular user of products in the outdoor market segment.
  • Ability to identify critical development issues via root-cause analysis and provide solutions in the form of long- and short-term countermeasures.
  • Competent in professional analysis and product development.
  • Good Electrical Engineering fundamentals and excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in printed circuit board (PCB) design and analysis.
  • Experience designing/reviewing schematic diagrams as well as firmware for PCB embedded products.
  • Familiar with manufacturing methods of modern PCB’s and standard practices.
  • Ability to rework solder through-hole and SMT electronics a plus.
  • Familiar with layout of User Interface (UI) of products including menu flows.
  • Experience with defining Communication protocols for reliability between products.
  • Familiar with developing an idea, executing design, and bringing the product to fruition.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Known as collaborative, engaging and team oriented. Partners well within department and across organizations.
  • Unquestionable personal integrity.
  • Clear ability to prioritize and execute all relevant tasks.
  • Have the passion, enthusiasm, and absolute drive for results with a clear focus on profitability.
