Coordinator Rehab Admissions-Center For Rehab Administration

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8:00-5:00

Summary: 

Summary:
Responsible for the facilitation and coordination of activities related to the efficient placement of patients within the MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio. Maintains compliance with all applicable government and payor regulations pertaining to rehabilitation admissions. Obtains complete and accurate patient information and payor authorization for acute rehabilitation services. Serves as staff resource regarding rehabilitation admissions, policies and procedures and patient authorization status. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.

Required:
Associates Degree
In lieu of degree, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
Three years experience in a hospital or medical office setting
Experience with insurance authorization based on direct communication with payors, including Managed Care products.
Ability to understand and interpret insurance regulations governing healthcare authorization and benefits
Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with a variety of disciplines.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
Excellent organizational skills

Preferred:
Bachelors Degree
Experience in using/accessing an electronic medical record system
Experience in an acute rehabilitation, long term care or other post-acute setting
Licensed clinical experience
