Assistant Civil Engineer II (Design) Department of Public Works – engineering Division Salary: $75,107.00 This is a professional level engineering position in the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works. The incumbent is responsible for performing and overseeing design work on county construction and reconstruction projects involving roads, bridges and drainage facilities. In addition, the incumbent provides training and instruction to the engineering staff, especially in the area of design. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) years of post degree experience in civil engineering which primarily involved the design of public highways and bridges is required. Must have eligibility for licensure as a Professional Engineer at time of application. Possession of said license at time of appointment. Also, eligibility for a New York State Motor Vehicle Operator’s license at time of application and possession of said license at time of appointment.
