The Criminal Justice Behavioral Health and Crisis Specialist/QMHP

This is a regular full-time position for a Criminal Justice Behavioral Health Specialist. Duties include, but are not limited to: post-booking in-jail diversion services, court coordination, on-site corrections behavioral health services, mental health treatment, court liaison, pre-jail diversion, community outreach, and pro-active engagement services with law enforcement for individuals at risk in the community. This position will also include services provided with the Crisis, Assessment and Triage team providing crisis services in the clinic and community, providing treatment to assigned clients, and maintaining current records of treatment while working closely with an integrated behavioral health team therapist (QMHP) to provide integrated behavioral health services using training and experience in evidence-based practices for adults with co-occurring mental health conditions such as serious mental illness, trauma disorders, and/or moderate mental health conditions.

 

The Qualifications

An MSW or Master’s degree in a social services field from an accredited school and at least one (1) year of experience are required in addition to certification as a Qualified Mental Health Professional

(QMHP). The successful candidate must have an NPI number or the ability to obtain one upon employment. Training and experience in evidence-based practices, experience providing intensive mental health and addictions services in a community-based setting are preferred. An appropriate combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree. CADC is preferred but not required at hire; however the expectation will be for the individual in this position to be eligible to become a CADC Candidate and to complete the CADC I requirements within their first two years of hire. Successful completion of a background check is also required.

For the 2019-20 plan year, the County pays 99% of the monthly premium and employees pay 1% ($15.90 per month) for the Base Plan. With this plan, employees are eligible for a $100 a month contribution into an HRA VEBA account. Buy-up plans are also available.

Retirement - PERS (Public Employee Retirement System) contribution is 100% employer funded, which includes both contribution to PERS pension and IAP accounts (IAP contribution is 6% of salary).

Short-Term Disability – 100% County paid

Life insurance - $6,000 for employee/$2,000 for spouse and children – 100% County Paid.

Vacation/Sick Leave - Flexible Earned Time (FET) is a combination of vacation and sick leave. To start, you will earn 12.38 hours per month and future accruals increase based on years of service. After a year of service and depending on FET balance, employees may sell-back up to 40 hours of FET per year.
