GENERAL PURPOSE:

 

This position is responsible for supporting the business in all areas of Human Resources, including processing HR transactions, answering questions, resolving problems and providing support and services to employees and managers applying company policies, practices and standard operating procedure.  Under general supervision, plans, administers, advises on, or performs professional work in one or more human resources specialties, such as: job analysis/evaluation, salary and benefit administration, recruitment and placement, employee development, employee relations and services, Equal Employment Opportunity and compliance, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Performs standard procedural duties which require the use of human resource management principles and techniques to identify, analyze and resolve human resources problems. Provides limited advice to management.  Assists higher level specialists in preliminary phases of evaluation or development. Receives increasingly difficult assignments under supervisory guidance and review. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for all full-cycle recruitment processes for entry-to-mid level roles, including job description creation, sourcing, phone screening and coordinating in-person interviews
  • Facilitate onboarding and present orientation to new employees
  • Performs data entry in HRIS system and manages the employee status change form submission approval process, approving and entering new employee data, and employee changes
  • Manage time and attendance system
  • Be the face of our company and answer daily employee questions on a variety of topics including HR, Benefits, Payroll, Timekeeping, Policies and other areas
  • Accurately maintain employee files
  • Provide management with requested reports and documents
  • Coordinate events focused on employee recognition including but not limited to, actively setting up and teardown of decorations, food, drink, etc.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding all Company and Associate matters, including but not limited to payroll, personnel and other confidential information
  • Oversees compliance posting requirements and vendor management for all required state, federal, local and worker’s compensation postings
  • Coordinates the office safety program   
  • Implement company culture, values, and policies

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Assist other team members where possible
  • Drive continuous improvement by collecting data and identifying process improvements to improve efficiency and productivity in the department and across departments
  • Assist and support other tasks and projects as requested

  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Intermediate typing and general computer skills
  • Ability to adjust to changing business conditions and learn new processes

  • Ability to prioritize handling of situations, manage multiple tasks, and follow-up to ensure completion of projects
  • Knowledge of Federal and State of Illinois labor and employment laws

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  • Work History Requirements:
    • Minimum 2-3 years office/administrative experience required
    • 2-3 years experience preferred in human resources, talent management, recruiting, and/or benefits administration areas
  • Education Requirements:
    • Associate Degree in Human Resources or a related field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred

 

Computer equipment and level of software requirements:

 

  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Outlook; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using common HRIS and Timekeeping systems
