Traffic Data Collection Technician

Starting at $16-18/hr DOE Plus Overtime. Will train motivated applicants. Benefits include Health Care Stipend and 401K Match. Require valid Florida Driver’s License. Some travel required with Per Diem pay. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and have basic computer skills. Requires 70% Field Work and 30% Office Work.

Traffic Data Technician collects and processes the field data in support of Professional Traffic Engineering Services. This position consists of field work on the roadway network throughout the Florida Panhandle. In addition, this position requires basic computer skills to process the collected traffic data.

Specific duties include:

· Deploy / retrieve pneumatic tubes on the State Highway System to collect traffic volumes and process the data.

· Deploy / retrieve portable video units to collect vehicle Turning Movement Counts at assigned roadway intersections.

· Deploy / retrieve Bluetooth detection devices to collect average vehicle travel times along specified corridors.

· Collect and process vehicle speed and delay data.

· Conduct basic field inventories of roadway intersections.

This position requires a valid Florida Driver’s License and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Entails 70% field work and 30% office work. Motivated and responsible individuals may be trained to become a certified Traffic Signal Technician. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification upon hire.
