Chemical Hygiene Officer & Lab Manager: The Departments of Chemistry and Biology-Environmental Science at Bridgewater College invite applications for the full-time position of Chemical Hygiene Officer & Lab Manager to begin in February, 2022. Duties include lab preparation in both departments, handling chemical waste, supervising student workers and stockroom management. At the start of each semester, this person delivers chemical safety briefings to students. This is a full-time position with daily duties and responsibilities over the weeks of the academic year. QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified applicant should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science or allied discipline. Several years of lab work with management experience is valuable. Experience in chemical waste management is useful as well. GENERAL INFORMATION: Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as the first coeducational college in Virginia. Bridgewater offers bachelor’s degrees in approximately 60 majors and minors, along with four graduate programs, pre-professional programs such as medicine and law, and teacher licensure. The College is a member of NCAA Division III and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, with 23 intercollegiate athletic teams.
