Job Summary | Supervises and coordinates service-learning and community engagement efforts in support of faculty, staff, and student needs including the needs of the handicapped. Creates and implements leadership programs, supervises, and coordinates recruitment for student organizations. |
Primary Duties and Responsibilities | • Creates club and organization packets for protocol • Provides guidance to student organizations • Assists with overall recruitment and marketing • Trains and develops student leaders • Develops, promotes, and implements service projects • Assists faculty and students in developing service-learning projects • Acts as a liaison between faculty, students, and community agencies • Recruits organizations to partner with the college in service projects • Orientates students in service-learning • Participates in community outreach programs • Coordinates and provides guidance to student leadership of various clubs and organizations • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College • Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College The duties listed are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Required Minimum Qualifications | • Associate’s degree or 60 college hours • One (1) year of experience providing service to the public |
Preferred Qualifications | • Courses in the specialized field or equivalent knowledge and experience • Experience managing processes and/ or project management experience • Experience planning, publicizing, and implementing a variety of programs |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software • Experience with computerized systems • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills • Knowledge of various types of diverse student issues and how they affect a student’s participation in campus activities • Ability to enthusiastically communicate with and relate to the community college student |
