The Workforce Development Institute, Inc. (WDI), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is seeking a Program Associate to be based in Troy, NY. The Program Associate will publicly represent WDI as a critical partner on the issue of child care and will provide administrative support for the Child Care Subsidy Facilitated Enrollment Program overall.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain strong expertise on the Child Care Subsidy Facilitated Enrollment Program, including how the program works, qualifications, enrollment process and county expectations for working families, locally and remotely, statewide.
  • Assist families in identifying if qualification criteria are met to qualify for the Child Care Subsidy Program
  • Assist families with enrollment into the Child Care Subsidy Program, locally and remotely, statewide.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the program
  • Enter pertinent data on a timely basis into the program database for record keeping & reporting purposes
  • Database administration, including the analysis of output information to inform strategies for program maintenance and development to manage daily caseloads and target local outreach
  • Provide data/reports to appropriate stakeholders on the application and enrollment of families in the program
  • Conduct consumer education presentations with local employers, labor & community-based organization, and government agencies ensuring the local community is aware of the benefits of the Child Care Subsidy Program
  • Partnership building with local employers, labor, community-based organizations and government agencies; including conducting consumer education presentations.
  • Database administration, including the analysis of output information to inform strategies for program maintenance and development.
  • Other duties as required

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in client facing roles requiring outstanding verbal & written communication
  • History of being self-motivated and have strong critical thinking and logical problem solving skills
  • Desire to learn & the ability to quickly translate the learning into practice & results
  • Demonstrated excellence with computer literacy and use of Microsoft based applications (i.e. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, MSWord)
  • Demonstrated success working as part of a team with a positive, supportive attitude
  • Exhibits a sense of ownership & accountability
  • Demonstrated pursuit of Excellence

 

 

The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter who works well with a team both locally and statewide and is flexible and adaptable with strong cultural competency skills. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills including written, verbal and public speaking; strong technical and digital skills, and attention to detail. A minimum of four years of work experience, preferably in dealing with the public, is required. A background in human services and/or early childhood education is a plus.

 

Spanish language proficiency is preferred.

 

This position will report to the Director of Workforce Support (Syracuse, NY) and requires regular travel, locally and occasionally, statewide. This is a full-time position (35 hours) with a generous benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision, Life, STD, LTD and 403(b). Parking is provided.
