Salary: Commensurate With Experience; Excellent Benefit Package and Retirement.
The Correctional Education Specialist reports directly to the Director of Correctional Education. Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining clearance with both Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Federal Bureau of Prisons. Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of one to two years’ job related experience. Ability to work in stressful situations. Ability to interact productively with incarcerated individuals. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Banner experience preferred. High quality communication skills, both written and spoken. Must be able to drive to area prisons.
This position is security sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorized the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
