The Accountant II is responsible for day-to-day financial transaction processing, tracking and pre-award sponsored research activities for the Department of Surgery. This includes the procurement of goods and services, submission and/or approval of travel/entertainment reimbursements, invoicing, and processing funds received by the department. The Accountant II serves as the primary liaison between Surgery and the pre-award section of Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) and will assist researchers in the preparation and submission of grant and contract proposals. The responsibilities of this position will involve account analysis and reconciliation, participation in budget preparation and the reporting of financial data to a variety of stakeholders.
