Elementary Assistant Principal - Cohen Elementary School

Qualifications and Responsibilities include:

A well-developed understanding of and background in elementary education and child development; the ability to cultivate and support ongoing positive culture and community within the building; demonstrate team leadership abilities and experiences; the ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, parents and other stakeholder groups; the ability to work and coordinate with community service provider agencies; knowledge and experience with student behaviors and interventions; collaborate with the Principal in overseeing daily school operations; support the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional programs; assist in recruiting, hiring, and evaluating teachers and staff; foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student engagement and well-being; implement and monitor school policies and procedures; conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers.

Requirements:

NY State certification as an SDL or SBL

Understanding and knowledge of EHCSD initiatives, including:

  • Knowledge of Next Generation Standards

  • Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)

  • Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports

  • Professional Learning Communities

  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity and Belonging

  • Social Emotional Learning
