Looking for new and experienced surgical technologists for various Spectrum Health locations, including: our level 1 trauma center, Butterworth Hospital, Blodgett Hospital and our ambulatory surgical sites, Lake Drive Surgical Center & South Pavilion Surgical Center. Meijer Heart Center, whose open heart surgery program boasts the largest volume program in the state of Michigan, is also looking for experienced Surgical Technologists to join the team.

Summary

Maintains responsibility for preparation of the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, making appropriate responses as needed. Is responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and principles related to those procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Degree or equivalent - Required
  • Completion of accredited course in surgical technology or equivalent experience for those who start in this role on or after 2/1/2016 - Required (18 – 24 months surgical technologist training or equivalent for those who started in this role prior to 2/1/2016)
  • Successful completion of the orientation program - Required
  • 2 years of relevant experience related experience - Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtained within 60 Days - Required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a Surgical Technologist preferred
