Summary

Public Health – Seattle & King County TB Control Program is seeking a full-time Project/ Program Manager II who will provide guidance and support for the day-to-day operations of the clinical care and case management teams at the TB Clinic. This position engages with Public Health Nurses, Disease Research Intervention Specialists, Health Outreach Aides, and other Administrative Specialists to ensure the seamless operation of care coordination at the TB Clinic and our commitment to best serve our client population. This position reports to the Personal Health Services Supervisor.

Job Duties

  • Provide guidance and administrative support in day-to day operations to the clinical team 
  • Monitor daily clinic flow to ensure efficiency and safety 
  • Ensure staff workload is manageable and maintain responsibility for a back-up system
  • Lead cross-disciplinary meetings to ensure the clinic schedule is in place
  • Support Personal Health Services Supervisor (PHSS) with training and onboarding new staff
  • Lead the case management team and coordinate with Disease Control Officer (DCO) to establish plans to assist non-compliant clients 
  • Monitor TB suspect intakes, consult with MDs, and coordinate follow up with case management team
  • Organize research and clinical staff to conduct research activities in the TB Control Program
  • Participate in Congregate Setting Contact Investigation with DCO, Health Services Administrator (HSA), Nurse Case Manager (NCM), Epidemiologist, Project Program Manager III (PPM III) to plan and respond to potential disease outbreaks 
  • Help to streamline, standardize, and maintain incentive processes, including motel housing and supplies
  • Ensure all staff completes required trainings, including CPR renewal and employee screening
  • Support clinical medical supplies ordering and stock medications inventory 
  • Ensure clinic is meeting all Harborview Medical Center (HMC) codes and participate in HMC walk-through as needed
  • Ensure processes/ procedures are in place and updated to align with current protocols
  • Produce monthly/quarterly work program or budget reports
  • Draft external correspondence for supervisor or management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of electronic health record system (EPIC)
  • Demonstrate good judgement and comfort in making independent decisions, while understanding limitations and elevating as needed in the absence of information 
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and comprehend new and complex bodies of knowledge efficiently 
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in public health, health education, health services, or related field
  • Experience in a local or state public health practice setting
  • Bilingual and or bicultural 
  • Two or more years of TB experience
 
Licensing, Certification and Other Requirements
  • Washington State Drivers' License or the ability to provide transportation to work
  • Some licenses, certifications and other requirements determined to be necessary to meet the business needs of the employing unit may be required

Work Schedule
This position is 40 hours per week and will have a work schedule typically between the hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position may be expected to work some evenings and weekends. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and is eligible for overtime. 
 
Work Location
This position is located at the TB Control Program at Harborview Medical Center located in First Hill, Seattle. This position will predominantly work in-person at the TB Clinic with some opportunities for telecommuting.

Telecommuting
Some of the work associated with this position will be performed  through teleworking with reporting to office location and to meetings as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
 
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations. King County is doing its part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
