Under administrative direction, plans, coordinates, and administers MCOE's risk management programs related to workplace and school safety, injury and illness prevention, and loss-control; develops and conducts trainings on safety issues to MCOE employees; and investigates and makes recommendations on safety compliance, incidents, and claims.

• A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, risk management, safety administration, industrial relations, industrial engineering, occupational safety, or other field closely related to the knowledge and ability requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation is highly preferred, but will allow for year for year experience in the administration or coordination of risk management programs, safety programs or life safety regulations above the three years of experience already required for the position; • Three (3) years of experience in the administration or coordination of risk management programs, safety programs or life safety regulations; • Experience working and collaborating with Office of Emergency Services (OES) is preferred; • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is highly desirable; • Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid California Driver License; • Provide proof of automobile insurability; • Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting twenty-five (25) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds with assistance. Employee may elect to be a member of the Mendocino County Federation of School Employees Union. MCOE does not participate in the Social Security system.
