Virtual Care Operations Lead - Virtual Care Enterprise

Summary: 

Responsible for the design, coordination, and programmatic oversight of Virtual Care Enterprise initiatives including, but not limited to Hospital in The Home, Virtual Clinical Care, and Remote Patient Monitoring. Applies business and technology skills, problem solving finesse, relationship management, customer diplomacy, program coordination, and solution delivery to promote engagement and performance from team members in the Population Health Innovation Institute, Information Services, Informatics, and external partners. Works collaboratively with leadership, colleagues, and stakeholders. Initiates, plans, and executes cross-functional projects representing the Virtual Care priorities of The MetroHealth System (MHS). Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

 

 

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborates with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to accomplish high-priority initiatives through the rapid response to new and challenging opportunities.

2. Facilitates the formulation of project scope, objectives, benefits, constraints, assumptions, risks, and costs.

3. Develops work plans and schedules, including requirements, tasks, work assignments, resources, project milestones, and review points.

4. Works closely with the Vice President, Virtual Care Enterprise and Executive Director of Population Health and Care Coordination in the operationalization of policies, procedures, and systems to streamline and standardize Virtual Care business practices.

5. Provides day to day support of peers across departments and to leadership of the Virtual Care Enterprise.

6. Applies critical systems thinking and effectively collaborating across strategy, business, informatics, clinical operations, and information technology functional areas to evaluate business objectives, identify alternative solutions, consider feasibility, and develop business cases.

7. Works with product development, data analytics, and senior leadership to develop innovative solutions supportive of Virtual Care ventures.

8. Provides operational reporting for Virtual Care strategies & solutions, comprehensive business cases for identified opportunities, and related support.

9. Utilizes appropriate technical and business tools to maintain adequate monitoring of projects and system statuses while following network and system-wide security processes related to data privacy and protection.

10. Provides research, analysis, and project management.

11. Participates collaboratively in strategic planning processes by drafting/presenting proposals for new and/or revised strategic policies, programs, and/or operating procedures.

12. Coordinates resources for project execution.

13. Reports back on project statuses, anticipated outcomes and/or costs, and potential changes/modifications.

14. Leads the day to day operations of Virtual Care offerings.

15. Displays sensitivity to and understanding of various cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Required:
Bachelor’s Degree or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
Three to five years operations experience which includes program planning, financial and productivity
analysis, physician/hospital billing, and reimbursement and reporting systems.
3 years progressively responsible professional experience working on IT, business, and strategy projects.
Demonstrated experience with health care applications, including Epic electronic medical record.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and process mapping software (e.g. Visio).
Experience in preparing and presenting leadership-ready comprehensive documents in multiple formats (e.g. analytical findings and reports, executive summaries, presentations, workbooks, memos, etc.).
Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
Must possess critical thinking, analytical and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience facilitating cross functional teams.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:
Master’s degree in a business-related field.
Agile Project Management or equivalent certification.
Experience with a large healthcare hospital system (public system highly desirable).
Knowledge of financial/managerial accounting and activity-based costing.
Working knowledge of healthcare data and inter-related nature of coding nomenclatures (e.g. DRG’s, CPT’s, etc.).
Experience supporting major finance/strategic/business development decisions such as business acquisitions, divestitures, start-ups and/or re-organizations.
Clinical experience is a plus.

Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
