The key responsibility of the Systems Specialist for Campus Recreation is to administer and maintain the security and integrity of the member management and financial system, Campus Recreation website, and multiple departmental software systems. Other key responsibilities include the management and support for a student evacuation database and maintenance of departmental servers and customized applications. Within the Recreation Management System, this position will maintain POS client computers, entry systems, and updates. The Systems Specialist will identify innovative software and technology to meet the specialized needs of the department. This position will maintain and install security updates for all departmental software and hardware. A complete listing of technology and electronic related inventory will be maintained by the Systems Specialist. This position will support all other telecommunications and audio-visual needs for the department. They will serve as the primary liaison to Technology Services and third-party vendors. This position will evaluate and establish long term goals for departmental technology development and needs. The Systems Specialist will also supervise two student staff assistants.
