The news business never stops, and it gears up early in the morning! The Omaha World-Herald a Lee Enterprises, Inc. publication is seeking a Press Operator Apprentice to learn all aspects of offset printing and preventative maintenance via shadowing Journeymen.

This position is responsible to:
  • Fill and clean ink fountains; mix color inks
  • Hand webs up in print units, set web detectors
  • Mark up pages on presses; grease and oil presses
  • Set rollers; put on blankets; complete lessons
  • Pull pasters and waste during pressruns
  • Pull pasters and waste during pressruns
  • Lift papers from conveyor belts to waste cart
  • Identify printing defects; report maintenance problems to supervisors and/or foreman
  • Comply with safety regulations and rules
  • Other duties as assigned
This position pays $17/HR and a 50 cents night shift differential. Journeyman with Manroland Geoman experience will start at $22.66/HR. Candidates must be willing to work nights and weekends. Production experience and pallet lift experience is helpful. This position requires standing for extended periods and lifting and carrying up to 45 pounds.
