The Neutral Beam Electrical Engineer will be part of a dedicated team that supports the high voltage and high current DC power conversion systems and related controls for a high power particle beam system (Neutral Beam Heating) for the NSTX-U experiment.
Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is a world-class fusion energy research laboratory managed by Princeton University for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science. PPPL is dedicated to developing the scientific and technological knowledge base for fusion energy. The National Spherical Torus eXperiment-Upgrade (NSTX-U) is the primary fusion experiment at PPPL. Using Neutral Beam (NB) auxiliary heating, NSTX-U has the capability to heat plasmas up to 100 million degrees. The NSTX-U project goal is to serve as the model for a fusion pilot plant followed by a commercial fusion reactor. PPPL aims to attract and support people with a rich variety of backgrounds, interests, experiences, and cultural viewpoints. We are committed to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility and believe that each member of our team contributes to our scientific mission in their own unique way. Come join us!
