The Enterprise Architecture team at EBSCO works to ensure that critical business capabilities are effectively delivered by the Research Database and Discovery platform and the development teams that build and maintain the platform.

 

The Enterprise Architecture team is seeking a candidate for an internship with the following project goals and learning opportunities.

 

Project Goals:

 

  • Project goal is to explore, through experimentation, an Enterprise Model which describes business capabilities, delivered through applications, composed of IT components, owned by teams. Work will also show how model objects interact with each other through modeling metadata, relationships, and hierarchies.
    • Work with LeanIX EAM tool which houses the model
    • Query and extract objects and relationships from the model
    • Use the LeanIX API to support experimentation with modeling best practices, advanced modules, and integrations
    • Create reports to illustrate relationships and facts that can be reasoned about from the model
    • Document approach, analysis, and findings

 

Learning Opportunities:

 

  • Work in a professional software engineering environment with top architects from EIS
  • Work with modeling tools and see how these tools are used to reason about the evolution of the platform and the ability of the platform to satisfy business requirements
  • Work with GraphQL, RESTful APIs, Python, and Reporting systems
