The Licensed Midwife/Certified Nurse Midwife will be responsible for providing obstetrical antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patient care within the scope and standards of care, the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions, and performance of therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures of the designated patient population. The obstetrical services will include routine and high risk prenatal and postpartum care, vaginal deliveries, and circumcisions. Job Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications: |
Current New York State licensed Midwife and may be either a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or a Certified Midwife (CM). Is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) and is an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) or National Association of Professional Midwives. Master's Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, Business or Administration preferred. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required. At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served, two years in gynecology. Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Position will work primarily with high risk obstetric patients at the Regional Perinatal Center as part of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division. Experience with this patient population is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Epic EMR experience preferred. |
Work Days: |
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with occasional weekends & holidays |
