Position Summary/Essential Duties:

  • Function as leader of the Developmental Pediatrics triage team who will connect patients to the appropriate provider/service.
  • Develop excellent knowledge of clinical parameters for all division providers to ensure appropriate triage.
  • Develop excellent knowledge of outside referral points (i.e., Psychiatry, Neurology) for appropriate triage.
  • Assist patients through initial intake process by obtaining clinical and demographic information.
  • Determine benefit eligibility.
  • Assist patients with insurance questions and financial/billing related issues.

Telephone and face to face meetings to be handled in a professional, courteous and caring manner.

Education.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required: prefer Psychology; experience in Early Education/Childhood Development a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Clinical experience; Physician billing, managed care/insurance experience required.
  • Knowledge of PC and Microsoft Office software. 
  • Knowledge of IDX or other billing systems a plus

 

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

  • Possess analytical and problem solving skills
  • Type 55 wpm
  • Familiar with billing and collection requirements
  • IDX scheduling and billing a plus

 

This role encounters Protected Health Information (PHI) as part of regular responsibilities. UH employees must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain PHI for our patients.
