Summary

Metro Transit's Vehicle Maintenance division is seeking a Career Service Supply Chain Business Analyst that is enthusiastic, engaged, and excited about telling a story with data. In this role, the Supply Chain Business Analyst should have an analytical mind, a strong business acumen, and excellent relationship builders with good interpersonal skills. As a Supply Chain Business Analyst, you will analyze data to support replenishment of commodity in a technically complex high value inventory in a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environment. You will collect data to develop and recommend process improvements to maximize inventory turns as well as data to assess and resolve issues that impact Key Performance Indicators (KPI). In addition, you will identify and implement new or improved metrics and KPIs that improve business operations.

The Supply Chain Business Analyst will conduct data analytics to identify and implement methods to improve data integrity and business intelligence. You will also maintain awareness of industry processes, practices, and technologies to support or lead current and future initiatives to transition Vehicle Maintenance Supply Chain Management (VMSCM) from decentralized distribution to centralized distribution process.

This recruitment may be used to generate an unranked pool for future Career Service, Term Limited Temporary (TLT), and Special Duty Assignment (SDA) positions that may occur in this classification. The pool would be valid for twelve months upon creation and may be extended at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Job Duties

Applying Equity and Social Justice Principles is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees. In this role you will apply equity and social justice principles to all aspects of the work. You will:
  • Forecast, assess, and prioritize procurement demand from across the organization, including the identification of risks and opportunities to be managed via procurement planning and analysis.
  • Demand Forecast: Collect requirements from the Rebuild Shops and manage the process of forecasting.
  • Collaborate with department within King County to develop and implement Supplier Score Card.
  • Incorporate customer part requirements into our forecast and create a demand plan that will support Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO).
  • Create Quantitative Forecasting: Execute and review statistical modeling while applying error analysis to improve forecasts. Summarize/aggregate statistical forecasts.
  • Develop inventory strategies to achieve key business outcomes while proactively identifying improvements.
  • Demonstrate a successful approach to communicate and coordinate potential gaps with Leadership and Supply Chain Partners.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with personnel at all levels within the organization; to obtain, discuss, and analyze information and processes.
  • Collaborate with other Divisions within King County to develop and implement Supplier Score Card.
  • Tracking of the execution of the supply plan with production scheduling and buying, ensuring that the plan is fully operationalized and tracked for performance deviation including mitigation on back orders and pro-active communication of future supply risks.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management team to develop, implement, and manage Key Performance Indicator metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated work experience in Forecasting, Procurement, Supply Chain, or an analytical role using Quantitative Forecasting.
  • Proven track record developing and implementing forecasting models.
  • Highly proficient at Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Preventive Action.
  • Experience managing suppliers/vendors to deliver products and service.
  • Enterprise Asset Management experience.
  • Proficient in analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources.
  • Experience working with Supplier Management, Supply Chain, and/or Procurement practices and processes.

Work Schedule
