At NoveList, we believe that books and libraries have the power to transform lives, and for more than a quarter century, we have been providing solutions for libraries that enable them to help readers and engage their communities. Data is the foundation of our products and will power much of their future growth. As a key member of the product team, you will have an active role in amplifying the voices of those who create and use our data, from metadata catalogers to software engineers to end users of our products.  You’ll also ensure that our internal products enable NoveList data and content to be curated and consumed efficiently and at scale.  

 

What you’ll do 

  • Become an expert about the data, utilities, and processes that power our products.  

  • Define and prioritize a backlog of features, stories, and defects to deliver a modernized pipeline that ingests, transforms, and processes data for NoveList’s product portfolio. 

  • Recommend and prioritize work for additional internal products, tools and technical debt to be undertaken after the data pipeline is created. 

  • Guide a team of internal and outsourced developers to clarify, estimate, and plan the work to deliver the data pipeline and subsequent internal products and projects.  

  • Partner with the development team to set and meet goals for program increments and iterations. 

  • Lead acceptance of the team’s features and stories before they are deployed. 

  • Build key relationships with NoveList and EBSCO Information Systems (EIS) stakeholders to understand subject matter expertise, resource allocation, processes, and dependencies. 

  • Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders about decisions, progress, timelines, metrics, and workflow impacts related to the team’s work. 

  • Drive and develop team demos (5 per quarter). 

  • Promote continuous improvement among the product and development teams.

Skills or experience you need 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 

  • 3+ years in a product role 

  • 1+ years of experience working with databases, distributed data systems, data ingestion processes, and ETL architectures 

  • Experience defining and documenting requirements for technical, back-end or internal-facing products and features 

  • Experience with AWS services  

 

Skills or experience that sets you apart 

  • Experience with SAFe and Agile software development, including prioritizing and scheduling cross-team dependencies  

  • Familiarity with MARC bibliographic records and standards  

  • Experience in the information industry, with libraries, or with library technology platforms 

 

Target Annual Salary Range: $ 77,680 - 110,970. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
