We have an immediate opportunity for a Rehabilitation Therapist who will be responsible for rehabilitation in daily living skills, adaptive communication skills, and functional low vision assessments and training to persons who have visual impairments and/or multiple disabilities.  This is a Direct Hire position; working either part-time or full-time.  

Job Responsibilities:

• Assess the rehabilitative needs, current functional level, capabilities of each client, and train the necessary skills
• Complete all documentation of services required
• Participate in staffing or required meetings to review the client's progress and goals
• Write Individualized Training Plan and recommendations for each client
• Attend professional workshops and conferences
• Maintain contact with clients
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree with a major in rehabilitation teaching people who have a visual impairment and/or are ACVREP certified or certifiable
• A minimum of two years of rehabilitation teaching is preferred; teach adults and relate well to people with multiple disabilities
• Must have knowledge of common eye conditions; Knowledge of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act is helpful
• Must have the ability to develop curricula, assess client's needs, and use various teach strategies in teaching techniques
• Must have excellent communication and public speaking skills 
• Must have strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must be able to work in a team environment and also independently
• Must be highly organized with the ability to pay a strong attention to detail
