Mission

The mission of the Senior Product Manager is to help lead EBSCO’s API strategy.  They will drive research and go-to-market planning for a forthcoming suite of APIs.  They will manage the day-to-day enablement and support of EBSCO’s current API suite, including acting as a point of contact for technology partners using APIs.  They will help create a customer and partner facing Developer experience to provide API access and potential monetization opportunities.  The Sr. Product Manager will bring both technical and business acumen and drive collaboration across multiple EBSCO teams.   They are extremely comfortable in the market/field in order to understand the market needs and come up with innovative solutions through the business’s product.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct competitive / industry analysis and organize findings.
  • Act as an Epic and/or Capability Owner in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment focusing on key market problems and identifying associated personas and market segments.
  • Assist in the prioritization of work for the Agile Release Trains (ARTs) by understanding project scope at a high level; expose trade-offs and identify dependencies to effectively manage. expectations and commitments to internal stakeholders and external customers and partners
  • Build cross-departmental relationships with stakeholders and colleagues in Sales, Marketing, Customer Satisfaction, Platform Product Management, Content Management and UX Product Management.
  • Act as the “messenger of the market” from the outside-in to the rest of the organization.  
  • Influence peers in product management, and other key stakeholders across the organization, and drive win-win outcomes for the company.
  • Regularly exhibit a leadership role within team on intra-team initiatives.
  • Create and maintain customer and end-user value proposition materials, customer-facing product presentations and content for marketing collateral.
  • Act as a central point of contact for Technology Partners leveraging EBSCO APIs
  • Collaborate with Architecture and Technology teams on development and implementation of API management tool 
  • Lead future plans to deprecate older APIs and migrate customers. 
  • Attend industry-related conferences and engage with customers to inform the roadmap for new product and capability development.

 

Required Experience

  • 3+ years experience as a Product Manager or similar role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with APIs and bringing new API products to market 
  • Familiarity with Agile framework
  • Organizational and leadership abilities demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional organization.

 

Preferred Experience 

  • Background in software development and program management preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Pragmatic Framework a plus.
  • Experience with SAFe a plus.
  • Positive attitude and proven team player.
  • Fearless to take on new responsibilities or try something new.
  • Outstanding flexibility, adaptability and sense of accountability.
  • Background in software development 

 

 

Target Annual Salary Range: $123,330 - 176,185

 

This Pay Target range includes a bonus target of 5% of base salary.  The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
