Printing Apprentice

Job Description
We have an opening for a Printing Apprentice to train on how to produce custom, overprint sheets of color with images for our clients. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
- Load and operate Heidelberg SpeedMaster 6 color press and follow all safety and operational procedures
- Learn the craft of doing overprints and 100% printed matches using pre-mixed spot colors and replicating color and images on various substrates
- Visually inspect printed material for acceptable quality and check ink level, adjust, and learn all press adjustments and procedures
- Unload press and keep printed organized and properly identified
- Assist Graphic Services for smooth press operation and quality print
- Clean press to switch color and follow all procedures for clean-up
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have 2 to 3 years experience as Press Operator with offset conventional sheetfed presses
- Must understand four color process printing and has the skill to color correct
- Must be a mechanical, creative problem solver while staying focused and able to follow procedures
- Must have an excellent eye for color
- Must be organized, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented with strong inspection skills
- Must have the ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
