Mountain-Pacific Quality Health,

a nonprofit health care improvement organization, supports values and beliefs that enable our staff to develop their full potential, bring their unique selves to the workplace and engage in a world of inclusion.

Do you want to join our team? Mountain-Pacific is seeking an applicant with a degree in a data-related field or equivalent experience to join our team of analysts to help us summarize, report and interpret healthcare data using Medicare insurance claims to drive quality improvement work. For example, a federal contract requires us to partner with hospitals in our region to lower readmission rates. We use our multi-gigabyte claims files to calculate those rates and report back to our federal funding agencies, but that’s only the beginning. What diagnosis is most common? Was there outpatient care before the readmission? Are there differences by age, gender, or ethnicity? What about by geography? Would a map showing rates over time, and linked out to census or other public data, help guide improvement?

We have expert pharmacists, nurses, and quality improvement professionals who want to explore those questions. Our field staff meet regularly with the healthcare providers in our region to find solutions. We need creative analysts to contribute. That includes the technical skills to push our analyses and data visualizations forward, and the openness to learn what questions to pursue from our staff and clinical partners. Strong statistical or data-driven background and work experience is required as well as SAS, SQL or other programming experience. See our website for additional information about this position and to apply online, or send resumes to bflynn.
