Quality Specialist-Data Analyst-Center For Quality

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8:00-4:30

Summary: 

Promotes performance improvement/quality improvement (PI/QI) theory by effectively utilizing proven methodologies in coordinating departmental and interdepartmental activities throughout the MetroHealth System. Coordinates and participates in specified data abstraction and analysis for government programs, The Joint Commission (TJC), and various registries. Organizes and coordinates data to ensure accuracy of data submission to corresponding programs. Performs data analysis and dissemination information to appropriate project leaders and managers. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

 


Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related health care field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Lean Six-sigma yellow belt or better or obtains one or more of these certifications within 18 months of employment. Proficient in computer applications (MS Office Products, EPIC or other electronic medical record). Self-directed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail. Effective time management skills. Computer and Internet skills and experience. Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing or related health care field. A minimum of three years’ experience in Performance Improvement/Quality Improvement. Quantitative (statistical) skills, including intermediate computer skills, especially experience with Microsoft. Previous experience with clinical chart review, data abstraction and database data entry. Statistical knowledge. Quality improvement or patient safety knowledge and experience. Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
