South Fayette Township School District is seeking a Technology Integration Specialist.
REPORTS TO: Network Systems Administrator
JOB GOALS: Work cooperatively with the Technology Department and Director of Innovation to develop, coordinate and train staff in the areas of productivity tools, instructional applications, and district business applications.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in related field or 5+ years training experience in educational technology. Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Student Information System (SIS), and a Learning Management System (Canvas). Experience in digital curriculum/resource systems preferred. Experience with both Apple and Microsoft environments.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Support and train staff and the learning community in all modules of the district’s Learning Management System (LMS).
● Work with the Director of Innovation and Application Support Specialist on LMS classroom integration.
● Provide technology training during new teacher induction and on-going staff changes.
● Develop/modify staff development programs and materials to meet district specific needs related to the instructional and administrative use of technology.
● Serve as liaison for technology to the administrative staff, faculty, students and community members.
● Conducts district SIS sign-up and usage sessions for parents/guardians. Address parent questions, phone calls and emails as needed.
● Support and maintain current training guides and classes for the district SIS and other administrative applications including help desk, facilities management, and accounting software.
● Responsible for annual district software renewals, new software purchases, and license compliance. This includes vendor communications, coordination with appropriate district administration, and maintaining proper software inventory.
● Prepare and maintain the instructional technology budget which includes working with respective district administration.
● Develop, maintain and enforce district technology procedures relating to new software and/or hardware and staff technology use.
● Assist with technology assistant responsibilities when requested.
● Maintain an accurate and complete district software inventory. Review inventory with the Director of Innovation to assure campus wide unity and best practices.
● Support special education departments, including Title III on the purchase of iPads, technology resources and software to support students in the district as well as outside placement.
● Create informational technology procedure packets for educators at the outside placement facilities.
● Troubleshoot, update, escalate and resolve software helpdesk tickets submitted by staff relating to training.
● Provide exceptional customer service. Build rapport and elicit problem details from faculty and staff.
● Stay up to date on all features and functions of administrative applications.
● Attend applicable training as necessary.
● Participate in software upgrades and other duties to ensure the highest educational experience.
● Maintain and promote technology standards throughout the district.
● Perform outreach to re-engage staff and check in with them.
● Work collaboratively with internal staff and external vendors to provide consultation on planning, implementation, interface and use of district applications and online software.
● Responsible for enforcing district policies concerning the use of computers and internet access.
● Cross-train with the technology department to support and assist if needed.
● Perform other duties as assigned by the Network Systems Administrator or Director of Innovation, Strategic Partnerships, and Instructional Technology.
