Job Summary

The VP, Client Services will be responsible for achieving profitable growth through the regional and market segment client services and retention strategies. This includes statewide, regional targets and market segments (small, mid & large commercial market, MAPD commercial, wellness and targeted product portfolio) annual retention achievement for ongoing account management and membership expansion with existing clients. The VP, Client Services will oversee the client management team and appropriate support functions. In addition this position will be involved in the management of small, mid & large commercial market P &L, development of pricing strategies for retention groups, and products and services development.

This is a statewide position and requires a physical presence in all locations. The VP Client Services must reside in Michigan and can select any of our 5 locations as their "primary" site. In addition, the position is based on relationship building and community presence, therefore the VP Client Services is expected to have a very visible presence in the community at events that may occur during the day, after work or on the weekends.

DIRECTION EXERCISED:

Directs the work of the client services department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to effectively interviewing, hiring, coaching, developing and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This position will also participate in membership forecasting and internal commission program development.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and achieve appropriate and growth driven small, mid, large markets for retention membership growth and P&L according to annual goals statewide.
  • Prepare market projections, regular progress, enrollment, budget, and marketplace condition reports for SVP Employer Solutions.
  • Work with client services leaders to create strategic plans annual and 5 year growth plans, client services process and expectations services levels, management of accounts and utilizing CRM. This includes providing leadership and direction to the account management teams to ensure the organization’s strategic plan is translated into tactical goals and objectives to meet or exceed revenue, client/member retention and performance objectives. Recruit, select and retain highly qualified professionals. Provide the leadership necessary to maintain a motivated, productive and competent team through open communication and delegation of responsibilities and authority. Guide and direct subordinates in their personal and professional development. Create a working environment where productivity can be sustained and accomplished and where innovation and personal growth are encouraged and realized.
  • Build trust and develop long-standing working relationships with all optimal broker/consultants network in partnership with VP Sales distribution strategies and leadership presence in top mid/large accounts statewide.
  • Working with the VP Underwriting, to implement annual strategies to support P & L client services and employer data continuity strategies. Research, analyze and monitor financial and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize competitive activity. Review cross-functional departmental business plans to ensure they respond to market needs.
  • Serve as an integral member of the Employer Solutions leadership team, always bringing new ideas and looking for new opportunities including the establishment of outstanding participatory partnerships with other departments within Priority Health. Provide input on new product development to include the exploitation of new opportunities with existing products and customers. Provide focused analysis and vision of market trends in developing recommendations.

Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or finance
  • Preferred Master's Degree
  • 10 years of relevant experience leadership experience Required
