Job Summary | The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a half-time Clinical Nurse to function as a member of the infectious diseases team. The team consists of 2 RN’s, 3 APP’s working with 13 MD’s and 3 fellows. Responsible for delivering professional nursing care to patients via phone, health portal, Tele Health and Tele Home, and in outpatient settings. Utilizes strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status; implements clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms; develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates patient care plans and patient education materials to enhance and improve outcomes and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities |
Incumbent will be expected to provide high quality patient care in an organization focused on patient safety, patient and parent satisfaction, and positive patient outcomes; advocates for patients and families to ensure unique needs are met; collaborates with highly skilled team members dedicated to achieving patient goals and providing world class care; actively participates in educational opportunities. Education in patient management is ongoing with the help of division members. This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Comments Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation. Workers in this position may be exposed to infectious diseases and may be required to function around prisoners and behavioral health patients. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient’s status and provide care as described in the department’s policies and procedures manual.
