Metro Transit Safety is hiring a professional to join our team as a Certified Industrial Hygienist.
Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has experience in public transportation and a proven history of providing services that ensure passenger and employee safety, mitigation of loss and risk to transit resources, and compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations. Safety-Sensitive Position
Applicants for positions defined as safety-sensitive are required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and, subsequent to the commencement of employment, will be subject to random, post- accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing in compliance with federal DOT alcohol and controlled substances testing program protocols.
Work Schedule
The work week is 40 hours, Monday through Friday. This position is not subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and therefore is not eligible for overtime pay if scheduled.

Teleworking Requirement
The work associated with this position will be performed predominantly in a hybrid work environment working in the office and at home. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will be joining an innovative and progressive team that is redefining how we work as we transition to the department's hybrid environment.
