The Learning Sciences Research Institute, at the University of IL Chicago (UIC), located in a large metropolitan area, is seeking full-time Research Assistant Professor to assist the department with the following responsibilities: Under direction and supervision, design and conduct research and development in areas of K-12 STEM education with a focus on student assessment; Conduct professional development workshops for teachers, teacher coaching, in-class observations of teaching and student learning, design of student assessments, and research into student learning, including quantitative and qualitative analysis of various forms of behavioral data; Develop STEM education R&D proposals that can be submitted to federal agencies and private foundations for external support and funding; Other University service and job responsibilities as assigned. This position minimally requires a Ph.D. degree or its foreign equivalent in Education, Educational Studies, Learning Sciences, Educational Psychology, as well as specific knowledge and experience regarding research and development on teaching, learning, and assessment in STEM Education. Some travel may be periodically required for conferences and/or professional development.
