Summary:
The primary purpose of the Employee Leave/WC Liaison is to serve as a subject matter expert to employees and managers on leave of absence policies and processes including ADA, FMLA, Military, Maternity, Personal, and Intermittent Leave. The Employee Leave/WC Liaison is also responsible for providing primary supervision for the hospital’s Workers’ Compensation program and assisting in all areas of hospital workers’ compensation services.

A. Experience, Knowledge and Skill
1. Previous Experience Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field is required. Human Resources, leave administration or workers’ compensation experience is preferred.
2. Specialized or Technical Education Required:
Human Resources certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP are preferred.
Computer skills are required and must include knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills are required.
Strong Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, HIPAA, and Workers’ Compensation requirements and laws is preferred.
3. Manual or Physical Skill Required:

Leave Administration Duties:
Workers’ Compensation Duties:
1. Work as liaison with the hospital’s workers’ compensation Third Party Administrator (TPA) and Workers’ Compensation attorney to facilitate the day-to-day operations of the North Oaks Workers’ Compensation program.
2. Manage, track and trend reports of employee injuries in the electronic Employee Safety system and report to hospital managers, directors and Environment of Care (EOC). Provide follow up with the employee and hospital management in indicated cases.
3. Assist to teach INFOR Training.
4. Review and assess the electronic Employee Safety reports on a daily basis to ensure risk situations are identified and forwarded to Risk Management for follow up. Compile standard reports and productivity data as required by the department and associated committees. Acquire and process injury/trending data to Manager and Director for presentation at specified committee meetings.
5. Assist with employee incident/injury reviews with Risk Management, HSLI, Legal Services and other management meetings. Provide appropriate follow up and concise documentation of all events associated with employee injuries/incidents.
6. Responsible for maintaining, and processing as appropriate, the following records:

· . Others as requested by department management
7. Proved consistent monitoring and progress assessment on all employees on leave from work due to a work-related injury/illness. Provide consistent documentation of changes in work status and program compliance.
8. Schedule and document follow up meetings/conferences with the injured employee.
9. Responsible for reviewing and monitoring all NOHS workers’ compensation claims, write-offs and external bills. Process all approved invoices to the Manager for payment processing.
Other Duties:
1. Adheres to North Oaks Health System’s Legal Compliance Program and Federal and State Regulatory guidelines. Stay abreast of legislative changes as they relate to applicable laws.
