Town Arborist/Horticulturist Position:

The Town of Carbondale is accepting applications for the Arborist/Horticulturist position.  This is a full time position located within the Town’s Public Works Department.  Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, however, for the duration of the Highway 82 bridge closure in Glenwood Springs, hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.  The job description for this position is listed below.  The salary range for this position is $47,300 to $58,000 DOQ.  Applications will be accepted until September 27, 2017, at 4:30 pm.  Ability to work additional hours during emergencies and snow and ice events is required.  Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resource management or and equivalent combination of education and experience in forestry, natural resource management or related field that would likely provide the required abilities knowledge and skills as determined by the Town.  Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days, and either be certified or have the ability to be certified within one year of being hired as a Certified Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture.  Physical exam, pre-employment substance abuse testing, background check and other pre-employment testing required.
