 Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Medical Assistant in the Outpatient Psychiatry Program at Behavioral Health Network! 

Become a part of our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Medical Assistant at the Maple Street Psychiatric Clinic at Behavioral Health Network! Medical Assistants at Behavioral Health Network provides medical assistance to support  psychiatric providers and persons served.  The Medical Assistant’s duties include taking client vitals, managing refill requests, medication prior authorization, communication with PCP and other treatment providers, scheduling appointments and ordering labs.

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Maple Street Psychiatric Clinic with the following:

  • Providing services to individuals and coordination/support to psychiatrists and APRNs.
  • Providing Assessments of individuals prior to their medical appointments as needed.
  • Providing education to individuals regarding their medication or other health issues.
  • Measuring and recording vital signs as needed
  • Completing paperwork related to service in a quality and timely manner.
  • Taking Medication orders from psychiatrists/APRN and phones into pharmacy if needed.
  • Managing telephone calls for the clinic
  • Demonstrating willingness and ability to work with challenging and diverse individual populations.
  • Demonstrating cultural competence in dealing with individuals with a variety of different cultural backgrounds.

Job Requirements:

**NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

The same guidelines noted above apply during flu season (defined as December 1st – through end of flu season as announced by the CDC) for BHN’s Mandatory Influenza Vaccine policy.

Additionally, BHN is a Tobacco Free workplace. All Staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors agree not to smell of or use Tobacco or ENDS products while on paid work time or within sight of any BHN facility.

What are we looking for in a Medical Assistant?

  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills Required.
  • Must be familiar with electronic health records.
  • Able to review/understand medication dosages and medication instructions.
  • Able to take blood pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of Internet, Excel, Word ,Other Microsoft Products and email systems.
  • At least one year experience working with a psychiatric population (required).
  • Medical Assistant Certificate or Degree.
